Speaker of the House László Kövér wants to punish 38 opposition MPs for committing an obstruction in an attempt to prevent the two-thirds pro-government majority from passing the so-called Slave Law
The government’s treatment of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences is unacceptable as it aims to bleed out the institution – a group of Hungarian opposition MPs stated in their joint press conference.
The joint application, which is supported by the signatures of several independent MPs as well, will soon be submitted to the supreme body responsible for safeguarding the constitution.
The State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO) once again imposed a substantial fine on Jobbik, amounting to HUF 136.4 million (EUR 426 thousand) this time.
