Stop corruption, stop Orbán!

News broadcasts reveal on a daily basis how Fidesz-related organizations or oligarch keep stealing EU development funds. The business of stealing EU funds, also known as Fidesz corruption, has many different ways, including some utterly shameless ones. The latest example is the scandalous method used by a certain Third Millennium Innovation Foundation, which committed to organizing fitness events in underprivileged regions but practically had nothing to show for the HUF 450 million non-refundable sum other than throwing a rubber ball among the people living in deep poverty at the end of the village. However, if there is an investigation into the foundation’s affairs, it is still possible that the EU funds will ultimately have to be returned and the fine will have to be covered by Hungarian taxpayers instead of the EU fund thieves, who also humiliated the underprivileged citizens – just like in the case of the HUF 13 billion which enriched the ELIOS company of Viktor Orbán’s son-in-law but will have to be reimbursed by Hungarian taxpayers, too.

Not only do the Prime Minister’s pals obtain most of the EU funds allocated to Hungary, they even steal the money in the most shameless ways while the bill for the penalties imposed by the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) is covered by the honest Hungarian taxpayers.

In Jobbik’s view, affairs like these provide a clear evidence why it is vital for Hungary to join the European Public Prosecutor’s Office so that these corruption cases could be investigated in an unbiased way and the culprits could be held to account. We believe that these fines should be paid by the thieves rather than the honest Hungarian citizens. Let the criminals pay, let’s put an end to the fraudulent use of the EU funds and let’s support the European Citizen’s Initiative aiming for this goal!
