Jobbik welcomes the truce plan in Syria
Jobbik Movement for a Better Hungary considers it as the triumph of common sense and welcomes that Washington and Moscow put their difference of opinion aside and agreed on a truce. We trust that both the government forces and the opposition will abide by the agreement. The truce means that weapons will be silent as of midnight 27th February, in at least the Syrian territory that is not occupied by the terrorists. We also hope however, that the truce will enable the parties to engage the ISIS and al-Nusra terrorist bands.
Ever since the Syrian conflict broke out, Jobbik has always been emphasizing the importance of rational, common sense solutions, with special regard to the interests of the civilian population. It is known that 11 million people have been driven from their homes already, while 250 thousand have lost their lives in the fights since 2011.
In our view, the ongoing Syrian conflict should be solved in the spirit of peace and stability rather than ideological differences and geopolitical interests. We trust that the truce will get us closer to such end.
