Jobbik urges Parliamentary response to the Romanian harassment of Transylvanian Hungarians
I shall initiate summoning a joint and extraordinary meeting of the Hungarian Parliament's Committees on Foreign Affairs and National Cohesion to hear the Romanian ambassador about the series of anti-Hungarian, intimidating and infringing political measures of the authorities experienced in Transylvania recently.
The Hungarian government and Hungarian diplomacy have kept silent about the excesses of the Romanian authorities and the gross violations of individual and collective rights of the Hungarian national community. The baseless accusation and arrest of the Transylvanian leader and Kézdivásárhely (Târgu Secuiesc/ Sekler-Neumarkt) president of Sixty-Four Counties Youth Movement, the harassment of several Hungarian music bands including Ismerős Arcok upon their performances in Transylvania as well as the disruption of Hungarian events by the authorities all point in the direction of a Chauvinistic show of force, which must not be left without a response.
