Ádám Mirkóczki: Opposition begins coordination, new developments expected on Monday
On Friday, Jobbik’s director of communications Ádám Mirkóczki was interviewed in ATV’s Start show, where he gave an insight into the coordination meeting of all Hungarian opposition parties held in the MP Office on Thursday. First, opposition MPs discussed their remaining options to protest against the slavery act in Parliament – they will share their conclusions with the public next week. Second, they agreed that political parties should back the demands voiced by the trade unions in this matter.
On the other hand, Mr Mirkóczki also emphasized that Jobbik fully supported the protests and the demonstrators, and was ready to use all legal means to help them.
Reflecting on Fidesz’ performance, the MP said the governing party’s greatest political achievement perhaps was, ironically enough, that it managed to come up with an agenda that brought together opposition parties in protesting against it, despite their disagreements on many other issues.
