Democracy in Action, part 1: Manifesto development (Healthcare conference)
As made clear by Dr Krisztina Morvai MEP in the Jobbik.com video “Declaring a New Paradigm”* it is Jobbik’s intention to plug the information gap which exists with respect to the Movement for a Better Hungary.
Caused by the silence of our national media here in Hungary, or increasingly bizarre hogwash made up by the press internationally: one could be forgiven for thinking that a deliberate campaign was being waged to keep the public as ignorant as possible over Jobbik’s real activities and our actual endeavours.
Which is why we plan to present our international readers with an occasional series of videos, demonstrating Jobbik’s unique determination to both listen and respond to the needs of the Hungarian people. As a result the positive, constructive and effective work we have been engaged in for some time is beginning to bear fruit.
Not least of all the intensive process by which Jobbik’s manifesto is being prepared for release on January 16th. It is expected to be Hungary’s most defining political document for a generation.
Central to the process of the manifesto’s development, has been the holding of several nationwide professional conferences on key issues. Another illustration of Jobbik’s democratic commitment to bringing the Hungarian people back into the political process; such a key factor in our national success.
The first conference concerned Law and Order; and brought together lawyers, judges, community leaders and senior and junior police officers. The second was about the issues of youth, education and national sentiment; and featured students, teachers, lecturers, professors and historians. And the most recent (from which the video originates) covered healthcare and social provision; and was attended by doctors, specialists, nurses and other healthcare providers. The keenly awaited last conference, on Jobbik’s economic policy development, is scheduled to take place in early January.
As the chief conference organizer, the author and economist Dániel Kárpát Z. explains:
“The significance of all of this lies in the fact that now, Jobbik’s twenty departments, have had several hundred experts working to produce what will in effect be the first regime-changing manifesto, that is truly regime-changing manifesto, of the last two decades.
These people have not been reimbursed for their labours, they have frequently risked the security of their jobs, families, and personal safety in order to provide policy proposals for the Hungarian people; and it is this that is the ultimate foundation and guarantee of something truly positive being produced in 2010.”
