Outstanding result in Ajka: 18.9%
Jobbik, The Movement For A Better Hungary has yet again secured its position in the Hungarian political scene as a power to be reckoned with. In Ajka-Banyasztelep, a former Socialist stronghold, Jobbik scored 18,92% of the votes at the early municipal election held on Saturday.
Left-centre party Fidesz won the by-election by 52% of the votes, the Socialists came second collecting only 25% of the votes. Gabor Ferenczi, candidate for the Jobbik party thanked the party activists for their help and the supporters for their votes.
Gabor Szabo, party director of Jobbik summarised the result: "The patriots of Ajka showed us that Jobbik will not stop being the third political power: slowly but surely will overtake the collapsing Socialist Party's support".
