Campaign for Liberty – The Ron Paul Revolution
The politics of the United States of America is controlled by two parties, the Republicans and the Democrats. This is how the system works, because this is how it’s easiest to “work” the system. The presidential hopefuls line up like contestants in a dating game, while the audience decides who can remain and who gets sent packing. To further perpetuate the illusion of choice, two candidates remain standing until that fateful Tuesday when the ultimate choice is made between Republican and Democrat, good and evil, or this year - black and white.
Every now and then a third option surfaces, like Ralph Nader who is not of either party, but doesn’t get very far because without the media, he has no hope. Since there is no federally owned mainstream national television in the USA only private channels, the decision on who gets airtime - and thus a shot at the Oval office, lies in the hands of corporations. “We the People” get what “they the businessmen” give. And they don’t give much.
So the only reasonable way to get to Washington is on the back of the elephant or the donkey. For the most part, the candidates try hard to present issues anew that have been regurgitated a thousand times so they are familiar and appealing, but also original in tone or style. Republicans or Democrats, that’s what they both do. There is no difference in principles or actions, only in the talent to pre-gauge the popularity of their words. To say what you actually believe… well, that is revolutionary. Dr. Ron Paul is a congressman from Texas and ran for President in this election. He didn’t win, nor did he make a ripple on the grand stage, yet he started a revolution. He has gained tens of thousands of supporters, got people interested in their country and wrote a book which today is the New York Times’ #1 bestseller.
Dr. Paul brings fundamental questions to the table, offers crystal clear logic based on incredible knowledge and honest opinion without compromising its benefit. When asked recently about Senator Obama he said:
“He [Obama] probably doesn’t have real solid beliefs. He will be converted when we convert his young people… Politicians in Washington don’t have much philosophy, probably never will, but that’s all right, that’s why we have a chance.”
Dr. Paul is frustrated, because people are being deceived by their leaders. Obama won on the slogan of “change”, but just because it is being repeated a million times, it doesn’t mean a thing. It has to be backed by actions and it isn’t. Obama signed the Patriot Act; will not pull troops out of Afghanistan; will not change the unfair and dangerous Central Banking system; will continue to interfere with the free market, etc. Essentially, Obama will not guide the nation back towards its Constitution; instead, he will further render it under the control of supranational economic interests.
As the campaigner states: “For all their talk of ‘change,’ neither major political party as presently constituted challenges the status quo in any serious way. Neither treats the Constitution with anything but contempt. Neither offers any kind of change in monetary policy. Neither wants to make the reductions in government that our crushing debt burden demands. Neither talks about bringing American troops home, not just from Iraq but from around the World. Our country is going bankrupt, and none of these sensible proposals are even on the table.
This destructive bipartisan consensus has suffocated American political life for many years. Anyone who tries to ask fundamental questions instead of cosmetic ones is ridiculed or ignored.”
The Campaign for Liberty is nothing less than a movement to save the nation. With 700 military bases in 130 countries around the World, the military is draining an economy already on its knees while offering nothing in return. Oil hasn’t paid for the Iraqi war, the USA is not safer today, rather the opposite. Pre-emptive war is not only unethical, illegal in international law, economically damaging, but also a disaster to many tens of thousands of families.
Dr. Ron Paul has been pushed aside and at 73, he’s still likely to make another attempt for the White House. He has started a revolution, and God willing the movement will gain enough momentum to bring conservative values and national interests back into a position of significant importance.
