Kazakhstan's EU Ambassador on Jobbik's new foreign policy
Jobbik MEP Csanad Szegedi met in Brussels with H.E. Yerik Utembayev, the Kazakhstani Ambassador, last week.
Utembayev, who is the Kazakhstani Ambassador to both the EU and NATO, said that Jobbik had already shown itself to be a major player in Hungarian politics. The Ambassador added that Kazahstan considers the Hungarian people their closest relatives, during a meeting which consituted Jobbik's first diplomatic summit and marks the beginning of the party's recognition on the international stage.
Ambassador Utembayev also congratulated Jobbik on its European electoral success in June, which he credited on what he said was the patriotic party's creativity and dynamism. Jobbik's predicted success at next year's elections will go far to ensuring further cooperation and continued friendly relations between the two nations.
Jobbik MEP Csanad Szegedi is the member of the European Parliament's delegation to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia. Szegedi assured the Kazah diplomatic leader Utembayev that Jobbik, if elected by the Hungarian voters next year, will adopt a new foreign policy that will favour closer ties between Hungary and relative countries such as Kazahstan.
MEP Szegedi and Ambassador Utembayev agreed that Hungary can be in key position due to its geographical situation in economic relations between Europe and Asia.
The visit concluded with both parties committing to further discussions and meetings in the very near future.
